1284 Account Director Amy Orton ran for Menphys at the 10k at the Run Leicester Festival.

She exceeded her expectations by finishing the run in 1 hour and 16 minutes.

“I was pleased with the time, given I set out to complete the course before the street sweepers started!”, she said.

The annual event saw thousands of runners take to the streets of Leicester to support various charities and causes.

The Leicester course started and finished close to the War Memorial at Victoria Park.

Amy was running to raise money and awareness for Menphys - the Leicester-based charity for children and young people with disabilities.

Menphys aims to provide equal choices and opportunities young people need to live ordinary lives.

The charity has been supporting families across Leicester and Leicestershire for more than 50 years, offering services includinfg:

  • Family support
  • Activity and holiday clubs
  • Employability programmes

The Menphys team has so far raised more than £4,000 from the Run Leicester Festival.

And Amy's 10k contribution will help to provide vital support and services to children and young people with disabilities.
