George Oliver helped to present awards at the 2024 Charnwood Community Heroes.

The annual celebration is led by Charnwood Borough Council to recognise the outstanding voluntary contributions of local residents.

And it was an even more special occasion in 2024 as it coincided with the council's 50th anniversary.

The occasion was marked with a special afternoon tea at Burleigh Court in Loughborough - a stone's throw from 1284's base at nearby ATIC.

1284 has been a sponsor of the event for the last three years.

And speaking after the awards had all been presented and the cakes eaten, managing director George emphasised the importance of supporting and celebrating individuals who make communities thrive.

"We've sponsored this event for three years now because we think it's important to show our appreciation to the volunteers who make the borough where we live and work so great", he told Charnwood Borough Council team.

This year, 1284 again sponsored the Brilliant Board / Trustee Member category.

And the three finalists recognised were:

  • Rita Patel
  • David Sangwine
  • Mo Murray

The dedication and passion of the nominees was clear, showcasing leadership and commitment to their area.

The wider ceremony saw more than 30 heroes receiving well-deserved recognition for their efforts.

From young volunteers to environmental champions, each award recipient exemplified the spirit of community service that makes Charnwood such a great place to do business.

The finalists' stories of selflessness and dedication served as a powerful reminder of the positive impact individuals can have on their communities.

1284 supports initiatives that strengthen the local Charnwood community.

The Charnwood Community Heroes awards align perfectly with this ambition and the company is proud to play a continuing role in celebrating those who make Charnwood a better place for all.
