1284 Communications has renewed its partnership with Leicester Riders for the 2024-25 season.

It's the third season that the Loughborough-based PR consultancy has sponsored the club.

The agreement will see 1284 branding displayed courtside at the Mattioli Arena over the course of this season.

And it was on display for the first time on Friday night as the Riders comfortably defeated Bristol in the first home game of new campaign.

Leicester Riders are the oldest professional basketball club in the UK and won the BBL treble in 2021-22 season.

1284 first teamed up with Leicester Riders in the 2022-23 season - sponsoring 6'6" guard Blake Bowman in his debut season in the British Basketball League.

Blake previously played for his hometown club Derby Trailblazers and has since established in the side, featuring against Bristol.

Last season, 1284 Communications sponsored 6'8" forward Victor Ndoukou, as well as the Riders Business Club.

Both Blake and Victor are also students at Loughborough University. 1284 founder George Oliver graduated with an MSc from the university's School of Business and Economics in 2021 and 1284 is based on the Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park.

George said: "Since our days at the Leicester Mercury, we've been interested in all the good work done by Kevin (Routledge, Riders chairman) and the Riders team both on the court and in the community.

"The sporting and community work done at the club and its foundation are really important to positive outcomes in the city and county as a whole."
