In the Jobs Foundation article, George explains the meaning of the company name saying:  “People often think that it contains some sort of coded reference. It does – but they are unlikely to guess it.”

1284 reflects George’s father, a police sergeant for 30 years who died shortly before the Pandemic, and whose collar number was 1284.

The article also describes 1284’s recent move to new office space in Loughborough.

It comes as the business leaves the Lougborough University incubator space which it has used since launch.

Location remains important to 1284, with George adding in the article:  “We have a wide and supportive professional network in the town, and its location is central (literally and metaphorically) to 1284’s work across Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.”

The Jopbs Foundation case study also references 1284 being shortlisted for specialist PR consultancy of the year. This is the latest recognistion the company has received over its first four years.
